CONCEPT
Inspired by the converging democratic journeys seen in 30 years of direct presidential elections in Taiwan and 250 years of US independence, this paper-cut lantern weaves together images of plum blossoms, orchids, wild lilies, and Yushan rhododendrons common in Taiwan. May the lantern’s radiant light convey Taiwan’s resilience and vitality as well as the spirit of freedom and democracy shared by so many nations.
外交部春宴贈禮燈籠以臺灣總統直選30年及美國獨立250年 – 兩段民主雙線匯流為發想，搭配臺灣梅花、蘭花、野百合及玉山杜鵑花朵作為窗花燈籠之設計，盼以光亮呈現臺灣堅韌、優雅之生命力並與各國共享之自由民主之意涵。
