CONCEPT
The year 2025 marks a significant milestone in the diplomatic relationship between Guatemala and Taiwan. This ceremonial paper-cutting artwork features laurel branches encircling the names of both nations, alongside the silhouettes of President Arévalo and First Lady Lucrecia Peinado, symbolizing the resilience, confidence, and shared aspirations of both peoples. The composition integrates a semiconductor wafer, representing Taiwan’s technological strength, and the giant kites of Guatemala, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, reflecting the fusion of innovation and tradition. Also depicted are the national birds of both countries—the resplendent quetzal of Guatemala and the Taiwan blue magpie—symbols of freedom and vitality. Together, these elements express the enduring friendship and firm commitment of Guatemala and Taiwan as they face global challenges hand in hand, striving toward a sustainable future.
2025年是瓜地馬拉與台灣建交的重要里程碑。本次國禮剪紙作品以月桂樹環繞兩國國名，結合總統阿雷瓦洛與第一夫人貝娜多女士的剪影，象徵兩國人民堅韌、自信與對未來的共同期盼。作品融合代表台灣科技實力的半導體晶圓，及聯合國教科文組織認定的瓜地馬拉巨型風箏，展現科技與文化的交融。畫面中並納入象徵自由的國鳥—魁查爾與台灣藍鵲，傳遞雙方攜手迎向永續未來的深厚情誼與承諾。
