CONCEPT

Food waste is a huge problem in developed countries, and Taiwan is no exception. Every day an estimated 4,600 tons of food get discarded, which translates into millions of tons of food getting thrown away every year. Every year, as much as one-third of the food produced in the world is wasted; Taiwan’s food waste recycling reaches 590,000 metric tons. The food waste bucket can pile up 13,500 Taipei 101. Taking the issue of food wasting circulation as a thought, food wasting is not only a problem of kitchen waste, but also includes agricultural problems.

食物浪費為全人類共同面臨的嚴重問題,全球每年浪費掉的食物高達生產量的3分之1,將近1成5的食物在送達通路前就被丟棄;而台灣廚餘回收量達59萬公噸,廚餘桶可堆出1萬3500座台北101。以剩食循環議題作為發想,剩食不單只是廚餘(食物)問題,還包含了農業的問題。透過剩食循環城市規劃未來發展,試圖藉由剩食循環打造未來生活新樣、達成城市與自然共生的永續發展。
