CONCEPT

In the “Preface to Shuowen Jiezi (Explaining Glyph and Analyzing Compound Characters) written by Xu Shen of the East Han Dynasty, Chinese characters were made from the observations of people in ancient times. Observing the phenomena of mountains, rivers, the sun and moon, and the vivid movements of fowls and animals, they were enlightened with the meanings of communication and transmission.

東漢.許慎《說文解字敘》:「倉頡之初作書,蓋依類象形,故謂之文。其後形聲相益,即謂之字。」古人造字來自對大自然深刻的觀察,從山河日月、飛禽走獸生動的神貌中,體悟溝通與傳達的意義。

Lucky Tiger Year – Fortune Tiger Exudes Grandeur福虎生風

以飍、虤二字作為設計元素。《康熙字典》載「虤」為虎怒之意。《廣韻》:「飍,驚風。」又借疾風形,擬奔走之狀也,意為奔騰如風。虎為百獸之王,虎吼威風凜凜,虎馳奔疾如風,象徵好運強勢滾滾,霸氣迎豐年。

According to the Kangxi Dictionary, the tiger is the king of all animals; its roar gives intimidating majesty, and its leaps gallop like the wind. The tiger symbolizes great fortune and its dominance will welcome a year of abundance.

Lucky Dragon Year – Cloud Dragon Offers Longevity雲龍獻瑞

以中國古字為設計元素,讀音taito,由三「龍」和三「雲」字組成,共84畫。《康熙字典》記其音「沓」,《說文》解作「飛龍」,《廣韻》則釋義為「龍飛之狀」。古字結合多層次剪紙,神龍飛騰於祥雲之中,吉祥獻瑞。 With design elements based on Chinese ancient characters, the composition of three “dragons” and three “clouds” incorporate multi-layered papercutting, which gives the meaning of dragon gods gliding over the blissful clouds, presenting fortune and longevity.
