CONCEPT
“Shanghai Traditoinow” collaborates with renowned paper-cut artist Chen Yan-ting and five other designers to organize a competition, transforming cultural intellectual property into boundless business opportunities. The competition theme is “Meaningful Images, Auspicious Intentions,” symbolizing symbols, patterns, and motifs filled with auspicious meanings commonly found in traditional Eastern cultural artifacts. This design competition aims to guide the new generation of creators through professional visual design mentors, encouraging them to utilize traditional ornamentation, crafts, literature, and objects as themes for creatively revitalizing intellectual property. The subsequent design applications are also part of the competition’s focus. We anticipate that this endeavor will enhance the application of traditional Eastern cultural patterns in modern design.
「上海起承文化」與知名剪紙藝術家陳彥廷等五位設計師聯手舉辦一項競賽，將文化智慧財產轉化為無限商機。競賽主題為「圖必有意、意必吉祥」，寓意著充滿吉祥意象的符號、圖案、紋樣，這些元素常見於東方傳統文化器物之中。本次設計競賽旨在透過專業的視覺設計指導師，引導新一代創作者運用傳統紋飾、工藝、文獻、物品等主題，進行智慧財產的創意再造，並進行後續的設計應用。我們期待這將提升東方傳統文化圖案在現代設計中的應用。
